A mum is about to have her 21st child - consolidating her position as the head of Britain's biggest family.

Susan Radford had her first child with husband Noel in 1989 and had just welcomed her 20th into the world - Archie - when she announced that number 21 is on the way.

She had her last baby as recently as September, but was proud to announce on Instagram that she is already pregnant again.

"We can't wait to welcome you into the family precious little one..#soblessed," wrote Susan, who is 42.

Susan and her husband are proud to never have taken benefits and continued to work throughout her many pregnancies.

Alongside Archie, who is less than a year old, there is Phoebe and Hallie, who are under two, Casper, Oscar, TIllie, Max and Joshua, all 10 and under, then Aimee, Ellie, James, Katie, Millie, Luke and Daniel, all teenagers, and Jack, Chloe, Sophie and Chris, all in their 20s.

On top of that, Sophie - the second eldest - has three children of her own, meaning that some of the grandchildren has aunts and uncles that are younger than them.

"We don't plan to not have any more and we don't plan to have any more. If it happens it happens, that's how we roll," Noel told the Sun after the birth of Archie.

He supports the family by running their bakery in Heysham in Lancashire. The Radfords live in a converted group home that is sufficiently large for their massive family.

The family came to prominence in the Channel 4 TV show 15 Kids and Counting, which has been continually revisited as they have had more and more children. The latest instalment, broadcast in 2018, was called 20 Kids and Counting - obviously - and surely a new series must be in the works given the happy news from Morecambe.

Noel had previously said that he would have a vasectomy to stop them having further kids, but later had it reversed, saying: "Having it reversed is worse than going in the first time. I won't be going back again. We'll work something out."

He and Susan were both adopted and were committed to keeping their first child, even though she was just 14 when she fell pregnant.
