A homeowner had the shock of his life when he spotted a photo online that showed the builder he'd hired to do work on his roof having a poo on top of his home.

The 38-year-old dad, who has asked to remain anonymous, hired the builder to fix a leak in his roof, having checked out the company he worked for thoroughly before taking them on for the job.

But he was horrified when it transpired the labourer had defecated on the roof in question, and left a large pile of faeces behind.

The homeowner, who lives in Skegness, claims the man also shoved some of the, erm, matter down the chimney.

He told Lincolnshire Live: "I needed a leak in my loft fixing. I saw an advert in the local brochure - I did my checks, it appeared to be okay, so I asked them to do the work.

"I went up on the scaffolding and noticed the faeces."

The poo.

He continued: "I was a bit disgusted - I had said to them I would provide toilet facilities in the house and they could use the kitchen when they started the work.

"They'd even shoved some down my chimney stack. It's dreadful behaviour."

What added insult to injury was that the builder even had his photograph taken at the time, grinning as he squatted on the roof to relieve himself.

He then shared the incriminating photos with friends - but due to the power of social media, the images soon made their way back to the owner of the house he'd been working on.

The homeowner said: "Skegness is a very small area.

"He sent the photos to someone and they found their way to me.

"I asked the director of the company about it and showed him the photos and I felt he got very aggressive."

The man refused to pay for the work - perhaps understandably, I feel - and was then forced to hire another company to finish the job, and to check everything had been done correctly... You know, given that the builders seemed a little preoccupied at the time.

He added: "I had to get another company to finish the job because I wasn't certain they'd done a good job."
