CCTV Captures Moment Horse Tramples Parked Car

CCTV caught the bizarre moment a loose horse trampled a car, causing damage of around £500.

The shocking footage was caught on cameras outside the home of Agnieszka and Jaroslaw Zaniewicz in Scunthorpe.

Agnieszka said she left her house at around 11am last Tuesday and found her husband's car had been damaged by the horse, which was pulling along a trailer at the time.

Speaking to the Grimsby Telegraph, she said: "My children, who are nine and six years old, play on this footpath and ride their bike."

Her 19-year-old son Michal, who has recently moved out, added: "It is dangerous with a horse running around on its own.

"The police were called before and they said they cannot do anything. If it was after school and there were kids playing, it would be dangerous."

He said the horse only stopped after the trailer it was carrying got stuck between the car and a lamppost. The family think it will cost about £500 to get the car fixed, which Jaroslaw uses to get to work and only bought two months ago.

"It is unsafe. We have been here about 10 years. You cannot leave your doors unlocked," Michal added.

A spokesperson from Humberside Police told the paper: "We took a call at 12.10pm on Tuesday from a member of the public reporting his vehicle being damaged by a loose horse and trailer in Granville Road, Scunthorpe.

"We attended and spoke to the owner of the vehicle.

"We are undertaking enquiries to establish the owner of the horse and are working with the local authority in relation to the resident's concerns about potential safety issues posed.

"Anyone with any information relating to this incident can call 101, quoting log number 218 of June 26 2018."

The horse appeared to be unhurt following the incident.

And this isn't the first time the family have had horse-related troubles, she told the paper she woke up one day earlier this year to find a horse in her garden. The family say the horses belong to a group of people who have lived nearby for over a year.
