Prince Harry and Meghan Markle made a decent impression in their first joint interview yesterday but what happened behind the scenes was a mystery.

Between takes, the couple were caught on camera joking around - but as there was no sound, none of us could hear what they were actually saying.

Now expert lipreader Tina Lannin, who does lipreading work for the police through the company 121 Captions, has now chipped in to translate, or at least to give us her educated guess.

According to the Mirror, Lannin says that the pair are joking about who should speak next during the half-hour interview.

American actor Meghan is believed to have ask Harry if he needed any help before Harry replied: "She wants me to say something." He then jokingly slapped his knee with a playful "Goddammit!"

You'd think after over 30 years in the public eye, the prince would be used to getting a grilling by now. Nice to know that he's as down to earth as the rest of us.

Here's what the lipreader thought was said between the pair:

Harry: "Oh, it's yours."

Meghan: "Do you want a hand, right?"

Harry: "She wants me to say something."

Meghan: "Oh sorry."

Harry: "Yeah, hopefully not. Goddammit! [slaps knee] But no, there's nothing [cuts away]."

Elsewhere in the interview at Kensington Palace yesterday, the couple swiftly put a dampener on the idea that they're planning to have kids soon. Bloody hell, they've only just got engaged!

When asked by the BBC journalist if they'll be starting a family soon, Harry replied with a polite: "Not currently, no,"

"No, of course, you know, I think one step at a time, and hopefully we'll start a family in the near future," he added.

I'm not surprised they're not in the mood yet, considering Harry proposed to Meghan while they were roasting a chicken - as we all know, the most romantic of all activities.

Meghan explained that the couple were having a 'cosy night in', saying: "[We were] trying to roast a chicken and it was just an amazing surprise, it was so sweet and natural and very romantic. He got on one knee."

"It was a really nice moment," Harry added. "It was just the two of us and I think [I] managed to catch her by surprise as well."

The pair are set to get married at Windsor Castle in May. Let's hope the microphones are actually on when they get to the 'I do' bit.
