Viewers of This Morning were shocked to see Chris Hughes from Love Island get his balls out live on air on today's show.

Of course, it was for a good cause - he was having his testicles examined by the show's resident GP to try to improve the number of men who are regularly checking their bollocks for abnormalities such as lumps.

Lumps can be an indicator of testicular cancer, which is massively more treatable if captured early.

So, on top of exposing himself on national daytime television - which is a dream that we all share, right? - he was providing a valuable service to men up and down the country to have a look at their own ballbag on a regular basis to check that everything is in order down there.

Chris himself had suffered a scare not that long ago when he found a lump on his testicles, and his brother was also diagnosed with testicular cancer. It's safe to say that the topic is one that he cares about deeply.

I mean, you might as well have a decent reason to be caught with your hands down your pants, right?

Obviously, this is important stuff. There are more than six new cases of testicular cancer every day, according to statistics from Cancer Research. In fact, it is the 17th most common cancer in the UK.

If it is spotted in the early stages it is a very treatable cancer, but for that to happen, more men need to perform regular self-checks on their own testicles.

That is where Chris and This Morning's resident GP Chris Steele comes in.

Responses on social media - whilst shocked to see a man's actual bollocks on TV at around 11 in the morning - were overwhelmingly positive.

One Twitter user said: "Not sure I really wanted see Dr Chris rolling and squeezing Chris from Love Island's testicles on live TV. But let's hope that it encourages men to check themselves for abnormalities."

Another added: "Well done @chrishughes_22 for raising awareness. Only watching because I'm a fan of yours, now I can make sure my husband knows how to check properly"

A third added: "Well done @chrishughes_22 Such an important issue for men and especially young men. Nothing to be ashamed off. Check yourself and make sure you go to the doctor. Testicular cancer is so curable."

There you have it. You can always count on This Morning for handy tips on your health. Whether that be personal hygiene, or checking yourself out for testicular cancer.

You might already know this stuff, but it's worth bearing in mind that not everyone does.

So, crack on LADS. Give those bollocks a good fondling - your doctor will thank you for it.
