Kensington Palace has shared the first official snaps of last weekend's royal wedding.

The photographs were taken by Alexi Lubomirski at Windsor Castle shortly after the ceremony and show the happy couple surrounded by their family.

One of the photos shows the beaming couple, alongside the Queen, Prince Philip, Prince Charles, the Duchess of Cornwall, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Doria Ragland, Princess Charlotte, Prince George, Florence van Cutsem, Remi Litt, Rylan Litt, Jasper Dyer, Brian Mulroney, John Mulroney, Ivy Mulroney and Zalie Warren.

Another shows Meghan and Harry surrounded by their page boys and bridesmaids, who are all showing off some pretty massive grins.

The other photo shows a delighted-looking Harry with his new wife.

In a series of tweets, the palace also said the newly-titled Duke and Duchess of Sussex wanted to thank everyone who celebrated their wedding, adding that they felt 'so lucky' they were able to share their big day with so many. Ahh, quite sweet in that, isn't it?

After tying the knot over the weekend, Harry and Meghan will be delaying their honeymoon, so they could make their first official public appearance as Mr and Mrs for Prince Charles' 70th birthday party today. Charles is having a garden party to celebrate the milestone birthday a whopping six months before his actual birthday (14 November).

Apparently, when you're royalty and hit such an important birthday, they really like to go to town with the celebrations and today's garden party will likely be the start of a number of events to mark the occasion.
