Anyone who's been to a football game will know that there's a strong sense of camaraderie involved - ultimately everyone who's there has one very important thing in common.

But one group of LADs took things to the next level when they took a homeless woman with them, before also buying her dinner.

Lloyd Jones, Gareth Newell, Scott Challenger, Chris Lloyd and Michael Knight spotted a homeless woman called Samantha outside a bar when they were on their way to a Wales game at Principality Stadium in Cardiff.

Their friend had just called to say that he couldn't make it, meaning they had a spare ticket - and they decided to invite her along.

The group of friends then treated her to half time beers and a meal after the match, and also paid for her accommodation for the night.

The group were all from Rhymney in South Wales, and while Wales sadly suffered a 4-1 defeat, at least the guys went away knowing they'd done a good thing.

Posting pictures of their unexpected twist to the evening - which soon went viral - Lloyd Jones wrote: "We had a spare ticket as one of our mates was caught in work, so I said we should ask a homeless person to join us so we could look after them for a while and hopefully cheer them up.

"She was the first person we saw, we said we had a spare ticket and would take her with us to get some drinks and food.

"Samantha joined us and had some food and a couple of drinks and we put her in a hotel for the night.

"She was a little nervous but she came with us and enjoyed herself, after the game we went for some more food and then we paid for her accommodation for the night."

Saying that he and his friends were blown away by the incredible messages of support they'd received after the post went viral, Lloyd added: "Blown us away to be honest mate, didn't expect this but if it raises the profile of people in need and in some way helps people in hardship then that's great.

"To be fair she didn't ask for anything but was very gracious for everything. We paid for her to stay in a backpackers hostel, she'd been there before and she liked it there.

"She got quite emotional. When I'm back in Cardiff working on Monday I will go to check on her."

Social media users have had nothing but praise for the group of friends, with one person writing: "Amazing, lovely lads - gives you hope when you know there are lovely people out there like this."

Praising the LADs, another added: "Fabulous, well done boys, bet she had an amazing time, hope that she had a hotdog and burger too!"

Someone else commented: "What a wonderful thing to do, it may only be for a short time but you've given that lady so much of her life back."
