A huge fire has engulfed a plastic factory in East Yorkshire, sending a massive plume of smoke and debris into the sky. You can see the full extent of the devastating blaze in the video below:
The fire started in Hessle, about five miles outside of Hull, this afternoon. Homes near to the inferno at Thompsons Plastics have reportedly been evacuated, and the flames can be seen from miles around.
It has also been reported that several explosions have been heard, with one witness claiming to have heard 'huge explosions every 10 seconds', according to Hull Live.
One man described the explosions as 'like bombs' and said that there was burned debris like 'coal' landing in his back garden.
Motorists and members of the public have been asked to avoid the area.
The Labour MP for the area, Emma Hardy, tweeted: "I am hearing reports of a fire at the Thompsons plastics factory in Hessle. Please stay safe whilst the emergency services do everything they can to deal with this awful incident....
"Humberside Fire and Rescue ask residents to 'close windows and doors'.
"The fire service confirm: 'We're currently in attendance at an incident in the Hessle area.'
"Police ask people to avoid the area and Humberside Police confirmed they are on the scene..."
Humberside Fire & Rescue also tweeted: "We're currently in attendance at an incident in the Hessle area.
"We advise local residents to close windows and doors.
"Please avoid the Priory Way to A63 area and be mindful there is a large amount of smoke in the area and surrounding roads."
One witness to the incident said: "I'm in Saxon Way in Hessle, people are now being evacuated. Police and fire engines are at the scene too."

Another added: "I had just made a cup of tea while working from home when I heard a ferocious bang.
"I had no idea what it was and then saw there was a thick cloud of smoke across the city. This is frightening - stay safe everyone!"
