If you've ever been cheated on, you'll know that sometimes your reactions may be less than rational - but one person, who has supposedly found out about their wife having an affair, has gone that one step further.

A married pub landlord woke up this morning to the glorious smell of a tonne of s*** sat outside his pub. The pile had been decorated with placards saying: "The landlord is f******* my wife."

The Hawkley Inn, near Liss in Hampshire, was the talk of the town on Monday morning, with neighbors in 'fits of laughter' about the incident.

The two metre wide pile was so big that it caused delays, with it being too big to drive around. The landlord, Simon Emberley, was accused by the person who had left the pile of cheating on his wife Joanna.

According to MailOnline, Mr Emberley was completely dumbfounded by the claims, denying the allegations and saying they are 'unfounded and untrue'.

Speaking from his pub, Mr Emberley said: "All I know is I turned up for work at 7.30 this morning, and there was a big pile of s*** in the road.

"I don't know where it's come from or who has done it, but something like this can turn somebody's life upside down. Whoever has done it is trying to ruin our business."

He added: "It is unfounded and untrue."

It looks like the owners of award-winning pub - which has an impressive 4.5/5 score on Trip Advisor - have taken it on the chin and are seeing the funny side of the pile of poo.

They've even invited people to come and get the manure for their gardens. Presumably, Simon's wife isn't buying what the placards' claim, with the pub posting on Facebook:

A spokesperson for Hampshire Police said: "We can confirm we are investigating an allegation of malicious communications following an incident in which offensive signage was placed outside a pub in Liss.

"The five placards were placed in a pile of manure that had also been dumped outside the Hawkley Inn in Pococks Lane.

"It is believed they had been placed there overnight between 10.30pm on August 18 and the following morning.

"If anyone saw any person or any vehicles acting suspiciously in the vicinity of the pub around this time, please ring 101, quoting reference 44190293559."
