A furious dad has been left fuming after he was slapped with a parking ticket while fixing his car - with the warden sarcastically wishing him "Merry Christmas" as he walked off.

WATCH THE CONFRONTATION BELOW

Conrad Bennett, of Guildford, Surrey, said he had been out shopping on Sunday when his Reliant Robin's engine started to smoke so he pulled into a nearby car park to investigate.

However, the 27-year-old dad-of-three claimed that a parking inspector saw him pull in and, instead of understanding, slapped a £50 ($66) parking charge notice (PCN) on the car's back window.

To make things worse, Conrad even claims that the inspector sarcastically wished him season's greetings as he walked off. Not exactly helping to make parking inspectors more popular.

As you can see from the video above, Conrad started filming the parking inspector with their confrontation now online for all to see.

The inspector even took photos of Conrad from his car when he saw that Conrad was filming.

"He's a proper jobsworth, a total bastard," Conrad said, pulling no punches. "It was just a sucker shot on his part. I had pulled in there when he was just leaving.

"He'd just slapped a ticket on the back of my car and I said to him, 'Are you joking?' and in reply he just said 'Merry Christmas'.

"At that point I was livid and I thought, 'What a complete wanker'."

Conrad is now demanding that authorities cancel the fine, but Waverley Council has so far refused to budge on the ticket.

He added: "I just can't believe it because he didn't even say 'You can't park here' or anything. I just went around the back of my car and there was a fine on the window.

"I want an apology and cancellation from the council. My car had broken down and the warden didn't even ask if there was anything wrong."

A spokesperson for Waverley Borough Council said that the officer did the right thing to issue a ticket to Conrad.

"The car was parked across more than one bay and the officer was carrying out their duties according to the council's enforcement policy," the spokesperson said.

"If the resident has any information to confirm the officer acted or said anything inappropriate they should contact us directly so we can investigate.

"Anyone who doesn't think they should receive a ticket can challenge the PCN through the appropriate channels."

After this incident it's easy to see why parking wardens aren't the most popular bunch, isn't it?
