Rush hour travel between Manchester and Leeds on the M62 tonight looks like it will be disrupted due to a multiple vehicle incident.

An update from Highways England reads:

The M62 eastbound in Greater Manchester, has long delays of over 1 hour between J10 (M6) and J12 (M60) due to a multiple vehicle incident closing 1 lane (of 2 lanes) between J11 (Birchwood) and J12. Highways England are working with the emergency services in dealing with this collision. Due to the nature of this incident it is anticipated that the lane closure will be in place for some time. Current delays are expected to rise during the peak travelling time this afternoon/early evening.

Road users are advised to allow plenty of extra time for their journeys and may wish to consider using an alternative route if possible.
