A Kent man has been sent to prison after videos featuring 'torture of an extreme sadistic nature' were found on his phone, although the judge accepted the possibility that he may have been sent the material before it was 'automatically stored'.

41-year-old Danny Lampon, a former train driver from Rochester, was found to have bestiality porn of adults having sex with horses, dogs and chickens on his phone, as well as extreme sadomasochistic material, after his phone was seized in May last year.

One of the videos featured a man having his genitals trampled by a woman in high heeled shoes with a wooden board on top of him.

Richard Elliott, prosecuting, said of the subject of the video: "His hands are shackled. He raises them in clenched fists showing pain.

"He said he [Lampon] felt embarrassed they were on his phone. He said it was absolutely disgusting and he would not download such items."

The judge viewed the footage in the courtroom at Maidstone Crown Court, at one point insisting that the sound be turned on for one of the videos. Other images viewed include a female dwarf having sex with a dog, a woman having sex with a horse and bestiality with a chicken.

The father-of-two accepted the charge of possession of seven videos but claimed that he had been sent them and simply not deleted them.

In mitigation, Lampon's lawyer Paul Lamb said: "There is nothing to suggest that he acknowledged the videos or sent any response, or shared it with anybody else," he said.

"The images were in a folder, suggesting they had been sent on WhatsApp.

"It can't be said if it was downloaded automatically or if he clicked on a WhatsApp picture."He accepts he viewed the images. He thought it was a sick joke and simply dismissed them. What he didn't do is immediately delete them. He accepts possession of them.

"He asserts he simply dismissed them and forgot about them. He is absolutely disgusted by the content."

Lamb explained that, since quitting his job as a train driver after two deaths on the line, Mr Lampon had begun drinking heavily and that the videos were 'doing the rounds' among his new workmates in the construction trade.

He added: "The impact of a custodial sentence would be quite profound on him."

In judging, Mr Justice Charles Macdonald said that he was willing to believe that the images were 'possibly automatically stored'.

"The moving image of torture is of an extreme sadistic nature. It is indescribably unpleasant. There are movies showing degradation of a number of animals - horses, dogs and poultry.

"You have worked sometimes in difficult circumstances. You have a poor history of non-compliance with court orders. The prospects of rehabilitation are fair given the immediate risk of recidivism.

"While there is some personal mitigation here it is not very strong. My conclusion is proper punishment can only be achieved by immediate custody."

Lampon will be jailed for four months and two weeks, but not forced to sign the sex offenders register.
