A devastated mother is speaking for the first time about her daughter's suicide after she accidentally revealed on Snapchat that she'd been unfaithful.
Charlotte Guy, 17, was found dead in Dukes Farm, Wigan, after accidentally sending her long-term boyfriend of two years, Jack Hirst, 20, a Snapchat message detailing she had slept with another man just two days after their separation.
Charlotte's mother, Debbie, found the location of where her daughter had killed herself after Jack quickly sent a screenshot of the Snapchat map.
Debbie - who celebrated her 48th birthday on the same day of her daughter's death - has now opened up about how life will 'never be the same without her'.
The Guy family believe that more could have been done to save Charlotte's life, if she had more mental health support earlier on.
Debbie said: "Charlotte had suffered with mental health problems since she was 12 years old due to being bullied at school.
"If she had immediate mental health support when she first felt suicidal in 2013, we'd still have her with us today.
"Charlotte and Jack had broken up days before and it was a chaotic 48 hours which led her to doing this.
"It was my birthday on the day she died and we'd spent the morning together, opening presents and cards and celebrating.
"Later that evening she told us that she was going to her friend's house to pick up her clothes.
"But just one hour later, when Charlotte still wasn't home, we arrived at her friend's house and realised she'd never been there.
"Jack, who'd received a message from Charlotte which said 'knowing you hate me is enough,' sent us a photograph showing her location as he was worried.
"We followed the map to some nearby woods and after frantically racing to the scene we were greeted the police who had already found her body.
"Despite the hospital working to try and save her for an hour we were told that she hadn't made it. That's when my world fell apart."
Charlotte's body was found in a nearby woods with cocaine and alcohol in her system, but despite doctors' attempts she couldn't be saved.
It was then revealed to Debbie that her teenage daughter had committed suicide over a message she accidentally sent to her on-and-off boyfriend, explaining that she had slept with another man.
Debbie, from Wigan, Greater Manchester, said: "Charlotte loves Jack so much, but the pain of him going away for university really got to her.
"Just days before, Jack had been down to visit and Charlotte had taken him to one of her kickboxing classes with him.
"This is when they broke up, and then two days after she went out with her friends. She had been drinking with her friends in Wigan, which she never usually did.
"She accidentally sent a message to a group that Jack was in, stating that she had slept with someone else - the guilt obviously got too much and she thought the only way out was to kill herself.
"I am convinced that Charlotte cried wolf and thought she was about to be found and rescued again - but this time we didn't.
"I truly believe that she didn't know the severity of what she was doing.
"Regardless of what happened, I still keep in contact with Jack and I know that he's just getting through everything day-by-day."
Despite battling with mental health issues for five-years, Debbie explains that Charlotte was always a very happy and active person.
She added: "Charlotte was a great person to be around, she'd always cheer you up and would put everyone before herself.
"She was our only girl in a family surrounded by boys, so she took a lot of their traits - whilst still being our little princess.
"She was really active and was into a lot of sports like kick boxing and mixed martial arts - she was one of a kind.
"But her mental health often got the better of her - she had previously taken two overdoses that she had survived from.
"After this we helped Charlotte and got her the help that she needed, but there was a lot of waiting for this.
"I often find myself thinking that if mental health services had been quicker and more readily available for her, she might still be here now."
Alongside her mother, Charlotte has also left behind father Martin, 48, and brothers Shaun, 30, Dean, 28 and little brother Bradley, 15.
To ensure that Charlotte is always remembered, the family regularly visit the location that the teenager took her own life.
Debbie said: "We have been to the location that Charlotte killed herself and we all prayed for her.
"It was nice to feel like we were there with her, and to all come together to be there for her.
"Since her passing we've also taken time to make every moment memorable and, although it's really hard, we're trying to stay strong for the family.
"Charlotte was a massive family girl and loved her brothers, so spending quality time as a family is something that's very important to us.
"Also she loved Elvis, so he's constantly playing in the house!
"In the future, once we've had a bit more time to process what's happened, we're going to campaign to increase mental health services - so that this doesn't happen to anyone else's little girl."
