Mum Left Disappointed After 'Sexy Santa' Dress Looks 'Cheap And Frumpy'

The advert said the crushed velvet dress was 'one size fits all'

With any number of Christmas engagements coming up in the next few weeks, it's vital that you look the part for every occasion.

One young mum has seen the dark side of festive judgement however, after buying a 'sexy Santa' outfit that turned out to be less alluring than she'd hoped for.

Lisa Williamson, from Edinburgh, had bought the alluring piece of kit on ebay, in what was advertised as being a 'one size fits all' dress - and priced at just £6.98, how could she say no?

Well as the 28-year-old quickly found out, that wasn't quite accurate - the petite outfit was so tight that she could only just squeeze into it.

But in the true festive spirit, Lisa was able to laugh about it and took to Facebook to share a photograph of what she expected to look like compared to the harsh reality.

Lisa said the dress didn't quite look as she was expecting.

And fair to say, she wasn't the only one to see the funny side.

The stay-at-home mum wrote: "When your order arrives online and it's nothing like you expected. Been looking forward to this coming for ages - but only thing that's the same is the colour."

Plenty of people took the opportunity to have a giggle at her expense, she recalled, tagging their mates in the post.

She said: "The majority of people who have seen and commented on my posts have found it funny and tagged their friends.

"A few said there's no difference apart from the hood and some saying I need to get a bigger size or that it's because of the shape of my body.

Lisa was hoping to wear the 'sexy Santa' suit to a pole dancing workshop.

"Going by the description it should have been a comfy fit and the description even says 'the costume is very good quality and looks great on'.

"But I've checked the measurements and they're all wrong - I'd still shop online, but I'd be more careful with eBay."

Lisa, who usually wears a size 8-10, said she felt it would be the ideal cheeky Yuletide outfit when she successfully bid for the crush velvet dress back in November.

She says she was planning to wear the risqué piece during a pole-dancing workshop but decided it was probably best not to in the end.

Lisa, who is a mum to Mia, aged eight and Morgan, aged two, said: "I wanted to get the outfit for a Christmassy pole-dancing workshop where I'd be learning a pole routine - but what I got looked cheap and frumpy.

"I had found the outfit on eBay on 24 November this year. It said it was one size only and apparently a regular. I'm a size 8-10, so I just assumed it wouldn't be too small and I never really read the description properly, but going by the sizing it should have fit me fine.

"When I opened it up I instantly saw it was rubbish quality and I was a bit gutted because I'd been looking forward to getting it. Still, I thought I'd try it on anyway and found it hilarious how it looked.

"After that I took pictures and sent them to my friend Georgie, who told me I should post them on Facebook so I did to give other people a laugh."

But in a turn of good fortune the seller has given Lisa a whole £2 for the mistake but said she could keep the dress.
