You have to be a next level moron to throw anything off an overpass onto a busy road. Even the smallest thing like a pebble can cause a decent crack on a windscreen or give the driver enough of a fright to cause an accident.

So you can imagine just how dumbfounded the community is when footage emerges of a teenager throwing a fucking trolley onto the road below.

The footage was captured in between Tesco Vale and Ikea, above the busy A379 in in Exeter, Devon. Police reckon the boy tossing the trolley is between 14 to 16 and they're obviously trying to track him and the person who filmed it down.

A police spokesperson said: "He is described as wearing a grey and black top with the hood up and trainers with red stripes on their sides."

Thankfully no one was injured or had their cars affected by this grossly stupid act.

Imagine hurtling down the A379 and out of nowhere a goddamn trolley pops hits your vehicle.

If you're thinking I'm being dramatic, people have died from acts like this.

Four boys in Toledo, Ohio were allegedly involved in throwing a sandbag off an interstate overpass, which crashed through the windscreen and hit driver Marquise Byrd on the head. The 22-year-old later died from his injuries.

The three 14-year-olds and one 13-year-old were charged with murder and two counts of vehicular vandalism - however they've all denied the charges.

The victim's lawyer Lillian Diallo told CNN: "While this season is typically a time of family celebration and togetherness, ours has been a season of profound loss and grieving."

What made the story even sadder was that Marquise was preparing to propose to his girlfriend.

Two months earlier, five teens in Michigan were charged with throwing a rock off an overpass in Flint which killed Kenneth White, a passenger in a van.

The six-pound rock hit him in the face, head and chest when it came through the vehicle's windscreen.

The victim's fiancée says their young son keeps asking where his dad is and she's struggled to find the way to break it to him that Kenneth isn't coming back.

The 17-year-old, two 16-year-olds and two 15-year-olds have all been charged with one count of second-degree murder and will be tried as adults. The maximum penalty is life behind bars.

Those two incidents involved a sandbag and rock, imagine the damage that could've been done with a shopping trolley.
