The crime scene at Hither Green has become a war between the Henry Vincent's loved ones and people who think he should be forgotten.

The career criminal was stabbed while allegedly breaking into the London home of pensioner Richard Osborn-Brooks with another bloke. He ran away from the property but his body was found about 20 yards away and he was later pronounced dead.

In the days since that fatal encounter, flowers, cards and balloons have been left by his family where his body was found. But the small shrine was ripped down by protestors who think it's outrageous that people are trying to recognise his life.

A man has been captured pulling down the flowers and messages of condolence from a fence opposite Mr Osborn-Brooks' property. He reportedly called the makeshift shrine an 'insult' to the pensioner who was just trying to protect himself and his wife, and also apparently stamped on the tributes after yanking them down.

One woman who did not want to be named told the Daily Mirror: "That should not be there, it is someone's fence.

"It's all a bit over the top. It's out of order.

"The man should not have burgled the property in the first place."

This repeated move has angered Vincent's family, with his cousin Elvina Lee telling the Metro: "'He was like a brother to me, he loved his family and his three babies. He wasn't a murderer, he wasn't a rapist, they're putting (sic) him as a monster.

"This is the best place for these flowers to be. I don't know what's wrong with these people (who dismantled them) ... I think they're scum."

Vincent's aunt added: "If people leave the flowers alone within a week they'll die, we will come here, clean this road, and go and never come back.

"All we want is them just left until the flowers die and we will take them away."

The burglar's family is even demanding an apology from Mr Osborn-Brooks for the killing.

But the pensioner at the centre of the scandal has reportedly been so shaken up that he's scared to return back home. The windows of his Hither Green home have been boarded up and CCTV cameras have been installed nearby as Richard fears there will be reprisal attacks on him, his wife or his home.

The shrine has now reportedly been put back up, but no doubt it's only a matter of time before the situation escalates once again.
