A teacher accused of having sex with a 15-year-old student is alleged to have sent him a card asking 'who else can I be a slut with?'

Fifty-three-year-old Deborah Lowe sent the card to the teenage after he blocked her on social media, the court in Manchester heard.

The card had a picture of a woman lying face down on some grass, wearing a short skirt revealing her underwear, the Manchester Evening News reports. Lowe is alleged to have written: "This is me after I found out you blocked me!"

"I'm a mess. You blocked me and I don't know what I have done. Who else can I be a slut with?

"I would never, ever upset, hurt, harm or make you unhappy. So please tell me what I have done. Is it my fat old arse? It's my birthday and I'm so sad."

She allegedly signed the card: "I bloody miss you, love the slut."

The card was later found by the teen's mum who reported it to police. Lowe has been charged with one count of sexual activity with a child and five counts of sexual activity with a child by a person in a position of trust.

During police questioning following her arrest, Lowe offered 'no comment', however she did read a prepared statement in which she admitted to being a sexual relationship with the teen but said it only began once he turned 17 and was no longer a pupil at the school she worked at.

Prosecutor Justin Hayhoe said: "The issues really are at what point did this relationship commence?

"At 15, as the boy would say, or 17, as the defendant would say."

The jury also heard that Lowe allegedly paid for a tattoo for the teenager, while pretending to be his auntie. It's alleged the pair swapped numbers before having phone sex, before Lowe 'progressed things further'.

Mr Hayhoe continued: "It was suggested by the defendant she could collect him, take him back to her home and they could engage in sexual intercourse, and that's exactly what took place when he was a 15-year-old school pupil."

The teenager is then said to have told friends about the encounter, after which he became 'embarrassed' and blocked her on social media. The court were told that this was when she sent the card.

The trial continues.
