Tourist Shoved By Guardsman After She Stood In His Way During Windsor Castle Drill

Tourist Shoved By Guardsman After She Stood In His Way During Windsor Castle Drill

Video footage has emerged that shows a woman getting pretty heavily shoved out of the way by one of the Queen's Guard at Windsor Castle.

It's one of the most popular tourist attractions in London, Windsor, and wherever they are, really - watching the guardsman parading around the grounds in front of the various royal buildings that they protect.

However, it's worth remembering that these guys are still at work and are still military trained personnel who have a really important job to do.

That means, don't get in their way, don't piss them off, and certainly don't stand right in front of where they are trying to go.

One woman found this last rule out the hard way at Windsor Castle the other day.

To be fair to the guardsman, she was smack bang in the middle of the road that he was trying to parade down. You'd have to imagine that there is a protocol for dealing with these such situations and, on this occasion, that involved giving her a hearty push out of his way.

The woman, dressed in yellow, looked pretty put out by the whole affair, but she really shouldn't have been there in the first place.

There were plenty of other tourists there watching from a safe place behind the rope. It almost makes you wonder what the rope is there for in the first place, eh?

The woman screamed and struggled to keep her feet initially, but she eventually got out of the way to allow the guard to continue parading past to his intended location.

The Queen's Guards are in place to protect all of the royal residences. Their ranks consist of five different infantry regiments, the Coldstream, the Grenadier, Irish, Scots, and Welsh guards, and two regiments of the household cavalry, the Life Guards, and the Blues and Royals.

They are taught that whilst they are at their job they should be silent and remain completely still at their post, however, there are occasions where idiots try to get in their way.

They are allowed to break rank and give people a warning if they're too close, or in the way. It is thought that the last resort in these situations is to point their rifle at them and warn them.

Let's face it, if you're getting in the way of an active soldier doing his job, let alone one with a big rifle that has a bayonet on it, you deserve everything that is coming to you.

You should count yourself lucky to only get a shove.
