Friends, eh? They're always there when you need them, but at other times they can be a right pain in the arse. Especially if you're 23-year-old Rian.
He presumably had the shock of a lifetime when he found a selfie posted to his Facebook wall of four police officers identifying themselves as cops from the Humberside Police Force.
The photo was posted at 2.39am on Tuesday and came with a slightly sinister message attached to it: "What's up Rian, you lost your phone running 100mph from us yesterday.
"If you want it back come to Scunthorpe police station #humbersidepolice #youcanrunbutyoucanthide"
It turns out, though, that it was just a prank played on Rian by some of his friends and that the photo was actually taken by members of the Norfolk Police just for fun.
That much was confirmed by Humberside Police after they were contacted by Scunthorpe Live. Chief Inspector Will Jenkins said: "It looks like Mr Kennington has some cheeky friends, who have used an old photograph of our colleagues at Norfolk Police to play a prank on him.

"While they're technically impersonating a police officer, which is a criminal offence, on this occasion I think we'll let it go and hope it didn't cause Mr Kennington too much undue distress."
So while it seems that Rian's friends have got away with the prank, it does beg the question as to the context of the prank.

Was Rian running away from the cops? If so, why? And how did he drop his phone? After all, it wouldn't be much of a prank if it wasn't based in truth.
It's unknown whether Rian actually contacted the police station, or whether he was told by his friends before he had the chance. After all, if he had done something wrong and had been running from the cops, and then gone to the local station, he might not be sleeping in his own bed.
