When it comes to cheap flights, many of us are used to the rigmarole of flicking through budget airline sites after hearing urban myths of people who managed to fly to Brussels for £8 (true story, LADs) - only to find your best bet will still set you back a few hundred quid.

But before you jump online to desperately search for deals that are long gone, let us tell you about how you can get flights to New Orleans, Bangkok and Bologna for less than two quid.

Walkers Sensations has teamed up with lastminute.com to offer you a chance to bag £1.99 flights that are 99 percent cheaper than the commercial value.

With a total of 100 cheap flights on offer for the price of a bag of crisps, the first sale period takes place on Thursday 27 June between 7pm and 8pm, which is when you can land yourself one of 50 £1.99 flights to Bologna.

That will be followed by a further 25 flights to Bangkok on Thursday 4 July and another 25 to New Orleans on Thursday 11 July.

The flights are for one person based on travel from London airports, although other UK desinations may be available at an extra cost. Travel must also be completed by 31 March 2020.

The destinations are inspired by Sensations flavours.

To be in with a chance of getting one of the 100 select flights - with all proceeds being donated to charity - people must visit www.SensationsGlobalTravel.com between 7pm-8pm and register their details. After the hour is up, people will be contacted to let them know if they have been selected, with people chosen at random.

The offer follows new research that revealed over half of young people cite lack of money as the main reason they're unable to travel.

Of the 1,500 people aged 16-35 questioned, more than three quarters (79%) would rather spend the money they do have on unique experiences, such as travelling, over saving up to buy a home or car.

Although keen to travel, one in 10 (12%) said they had never travelled outside of the UK, with a third (31%) of those claiming they felt trapped by their inability to do so.

Alison Kirk, Brand Manager at Walkers Sensations said: "At Sensations our snacks are inspired by flavours and recipes we've discovered from around the world. Nearly half of the people questioned said that they want to travel to try new and exciting food, so the launch of Sensations Global Travel aims to help people experience the sights, sounds, tastes and smells of the delicious destinations Sensations are inspired by.

"For those who manage to get their hands on one of the 100 flights, we hope that by reducing the price down to the cost of a packet of crisps, we're able to unlock an exciting feast for the senses, giving them a chance to explore new and far-flung places".
