Urban Explorer Finds Creepy Prison-Like Door In Abandoned Nursing Home

The abandoned Jehovah's Witness building was completely trashed on the inside with holes in walls and doors ripped from their hinges

You'd have to be pretty ballsy to be an 'urban explorer'. Imagine wandering the rooms of dark, mysterious buildings, left empty or neglected, without knowing what lurks behind each corner.

That certainly applies to Jake Parr who enjoys checking out places that have been left to collect dust. His most recent project is a Jehovah's Witness nursing home in Radcliffe, Greater Manchester.

Inside the derelict building it looks as though someone had some fun trashing the place - as you can see in the clip above - with rubbish strewn across the floor, doors ripped off their hinges, bathroom sinks broken, floorboards missing and holes in the walls.

Walking around in a place like that would definitely give me the creeps.

But that's child's play compared to what they find as they venture further in the house - things get really weird. If you thought piles of trash everywhere were bad, Jake and his urban exploring mate Urbex Robby then go into the basement, where they find a metal, prison-like door.

Why the hell would you need a door like that in a nursing home?

People on social media were unsurprisingly freaked out by the clip, with some telling Jake he should alert the police to what they found.

Viewer Bethany commented: "Nobody knows what goes on behind closed doors. This would bring reproach to Jehovah's name. Shocking!"

Jeff added: "This needs to be reported to the authorities as there is possible (probable) elder abuse with that 'cell'. As well as the deplorable living conditions that are apparent even when this thing was up and running as a business."

Another user wrote: "Why do you need a prison cell in a nursing home? Makes me wonder what's inside the other buildings. So much for a good clean image. Makes me wonder too if there could have been a couple other rooms that might have been missed."

According to the Manchester Evening News, Jake and Urbex managed to get into the building via a window.

Jake has built up thousands of followers by getting into forgotten places like the Adel Beck Secure Children's Home in Leeds, an abandoned fire station in Bury and an old brewery in Sheffield.

There's no denying that it would be cool to walk through some of these locations, but seeing that prison-like door would definitely put me off urban exploring.
