Bloke was mid vasectomy as earthquake hit New York City

The surgeon 'sort of froze' as the quake hit

Imagine you’re having surgery on one of the most sensitive areas on your body and suddenly mother nature decides to nearly castrate you?

That’s exactly what happened to a man in New Jersey after the East Coast was caught by a surprise 4.8 magnitude earthquake on Friday April 5.

As many people took to social media to talk about the tremor and what they were doing when it hit, one person was probably in the worst position for such an event to happen.

Justin Allen was in the middle of receiving a vasectomy when the earthquake began.

Yikes, right?

Allen, from Horsham, Pennsylvania, was attending his appointment at the Urology Health Surgery Center in Huntingdon Valley when he began to feel the entire room shaking.

In the middle of his procedure.

He went on to explain to USA TODAY what he felt in those few moments: "The surgeon sort of froze and all of us kind of seemed a bit confused."

At the start, Allen said he believed it was caused by a train passing by or even a building issue, but nothing to worry about.

That was until he had a sneaking suspicion that this was something more serious.

He said: "Even when the surgeon said 'that’s gotta be an earthquake,' I thought he was joking."

But joking he was not.

In fact, during the shaking, everyone involved in the procedure stopped what they were doing until it passed.

Allen said that he was about halfway through his surgery when the earthquake began and that once it was over, everyone resumed and he began to laugh at the absurdity.

He said: "It was an experience none of us would ever forget.

Allen's wife thinks this is a clear sign for no more kids.

"Everything went smoothly and we were able to get the procedure completed, but it was something that we couldn’t help but laugh about the whole rest of the way."

When he was officially snipped, Allen then grabbed his phone and took to X, formerly Twitter to tell his friends in his followers list about the funny story, but he didn’t expect that it would go viral.

He added: "I did laugh at a lot of the initial responses but had to mute the notifications after they got overwhelming.

"There were definitely a lot of inappropriate jokes... but in general, there were mostly funny replies and quotes."

His post read: "A ****** EARTHQUAKE HAPPENED IN THE MIDDLE OF MY VASECTOMY.”

Immediately after, his wife Bridget Allen responded on her X account with photos of him posing outside the clinic with a smiling face.

According to Allen: "My wife says that 'this is a clear and obvious sign that we should not have any more kids.'"
