The internet has been left absolutely baffled to have discovered there is a hidden number on one of the humble 52 classic playing cards - and once you see it, you can't unsee it.

It turns out we've gone our entire lives never noticing there is a hidden number eight on the 'eight of diamonds' playing card - instantly you look and you see the eight red diamond shapes on the card, however the number is in the white space in between.

Twitter

The person who made us all aware of this posted an image of the playing card on Twitter along with the caption: "What age were you when you first saw the 8 in the middle of the 8 of diamonds?"

If your answer isn't your exact age when you saw that tweet it must be asked why you kept this revelation from us all that time?

Many people were pretty honest and replied to the tweet saying this is the first time they'd realised the hidden number, one said: "Today years old," while another added: "A minute younger than I am now."

There was a lot of baffled Twitter users as someone commented: "That's mental. I've never noticed it before."

But there was at least one or two who decided to take a comedic route with it. One commented: "Ahhh I thought it was a beetle," to which the original poster of the tweet replied, "Looks nothing like John Lennon. Maybe Ringo a little bit."

Some people too this opportunity to blow minds even further by replying with some of their own revelations.

Twitter

Someone posted a picture of the Toblerone logo which said: "I was today years old when I saw the bear in the Toblerone logo."

That one is tricky, but if you focus on the mountain then you'll see the hidden creature.

Other pointed out the arrow from A to Z in the Amazon logo and the hidden arrow in the FedEx logo.

Those crafty people in the marketing departments seem to have their heads screwed on because these little hidden items in their logos are a great way to keep that company's name and logo in our heads - well, once their pointed out to us.

Playing cards have been around for hundreds of years, no always in the same way, but it's nice to know even the old classics can still catch us out sometimes.
