Woman Shares Petty But Hilarious Way She Got Revenge On Rude Customer At Christmas

Let's hope this is a lesson to everyone

Christmas is the time to be loving and giving - or so we're told, but for those working in the service industry it can actually be the worst time of year.

Those working in retail are faced with hoards of angry shoppers and stupid questions, all while having to wear a novelty jumper and listen to Shakin' Stevens on repeat.

Feelings of goodwill to all men can be pushed aside to make way for frayed tempers and petty behavior - and, really, isn't that the true spirit of Christmas?

And so, to the US where one retail worker managed to take exact a petty revenge act on a rude customer.

Taking to Facebook, Sarah Bélanger Demaneuf shared a photo of a pretty star-shaped tree ornament - and with it, a wonderful tale titled 'The Star of Vengeance'.

Thinking back 17 years, Sarah wrote that she was working in a shop just after Christmas when 'a terrible woman (dressed to the nines and driving a high-end Lexus, so pretty well off)' came in. At the time, as it was after the big day, Christmas decorations had 75 percent off - including the adorable stars, which were on offer for just 50 cents. Bargain, eh?

Except the customer didn't think so and tried to bargain Sarah down to 25 cents.

"As we weren't at a yard sale I said no," Sarah wrote. "And she started arguing with me, becoming increasingly rude and belligerent.

"After not bullying me into caving she said, 'Fine! My friend works at the other store in Huntsville and she told me that all the ornaments will be 90 percent off tomorrow, so I'll just come back in the morning.' 'I can't guarantee they'll still be here,' I said.

"And the jerk said, 'There are 12 in the store. No one is going to buy all 12. I'll get what I want, prepare to feel stupid tomorrow.'"

So, what did Sarah go ahead and do? Yup, you better believe she went ahead and bought out the entire stock - but she went even further than that. She called the other local store and bought its full supply as well as two others nearby.

Sarah added: "It was the most vengeful $30 I ever spent."

Possibly the best part of Sarah's story is that she was in the shop the next day when the woman rocked up hoping to get her hands on the cheap baubles.

"I had the pleasure of telling her that ALL of the star ornaments in North Alabama had been sold to one customer," Sarah gleefully added. "The look on her face was worth every penny spent."

Oh, and if you're wondering what she did with so many little stars to hang on her tree, Sarah said she gave them away each year to friends and family, but that she's kept one for herself.

"I still smile when I hang it on my tree," she wrote.

Merry Christmas.
