Boyfriend Freaks Out After Mistaking Girlfriend's Thermometer For Positive Pregnancy Test

We're not always at our best mentally in the early hours of the morning. Mistakes can and will be made. Sometimes, though, they're actually funny. This is one of those times.

Basically, a guy from the USA called Izaak received a picture message from his girlfriend, Vanessa Marie, in the wee small hours of the morning. It was a fairly innocuous picture that showed a thermometer.

Vanessa hadn't been very well, you see. However, the picture from his girlfriend also said: "Holy fuck."

That sent Izaak's 4am brain leaping to a completely different conclusion.

He thought it was a positive pregnancy test.

Well, there is good news and bad news. The good news - presuming the 18-year-old didn't actually want a baby - is that she isn't pregnant. The bad news is that everyone now knows about his mistake.

Vanessa Marie shared the messages that she received from her flustered boyfriend, including such gems as "How," and "WTF," as well as the classic "You're on birth control."

Alongside the screenshots of the hilarious response from Izaak, she said: "I had a fever last night and my boyfriend thought the thermometer was a pregnancy test."

Marie explained to Buzzfeed News: "I said 'holy fuck' because I was so frustrated that it was 4 am and I was dead tired, but I didn't want to go back to sleep until my fever went down some more.

"I didn't get his response 'til I woke up around 11 am and I just died laughing."

As you can imagine, the tweet swiftly went viral. Everyone thought that the response was pretty damn funny.

One person said: "He saw it as you're 100% pregnant and lmao I'm dead"

Another said: "You is 100% having a baby."

Luckily, the couple are as amused as everyone else. Izaak is, in actual fact, a good sport when it comes to taking the piss out of himself.

The young guy from Costa Mesa, California said that he initially 'felt like a dumb ass'. However, he is now OK with everyone having a little chuckle about it.

He said: "I honestly don't care what anyone says. Me and my girl have a great relationship and we are strong, and we posted this for people to find it funny but not blow it out of proportion."

Fair play to them. How many of us would have reacted in the same way at 4am?
