Canada's Former Defense Minister Claims The Illuminati Is Real

Paul Hellyer has become the highest-ranking government official to say the Illuminati exists and we should all be absolutely terrified

It crops up in films and conspiracy theories and films about conspiracy theories a lot, but does the Illuminati - the powerful secret society that basically controls everything and is trying to establish a New World Order - really exist?

Ok, there's a lot going on behind the scenes in politics, and we could spend all day reading about the role that the Illuminati has supposedly played in wars, 9/11 and all sorts, but we'd end up in a paranoid ball of anxiety.

Although, to be honest, that's exactly how we feel now after Paul Hellyer - the former Canadian Defense Minister who oversaw that country's defense forces in the 1960s - came out and said that the Illuminati is a real entity and is, indeed, controlling the world. It makes him the highest-ranking government official to ever do so.

Hellyer told the Lazarus Effect podcast he believes the world's elite has the technology to reverse the effects of climate change but is holding back because the Illuminati want to help the petroleum industry.

Indeed, Hellyer says that many members of the Illuminati have financial stakes in the oil industry and want it to perform well as a result.

"You have a got secret cabal that's actually running the world," said Hellyer, "and they've managed to keep this technology under wraps until they can cash in the trillions of oil assets that they've got.

"And it's not going to change until hundreds of thousands of people band together and say look "you've got to come clean, tell us what is going on, and change your priorities to save the world for further generations instead of blowing it on wars."

As high up as he has been in Canadian politics, the skeptics among you may want to take what Hellyer says with a pinch of salt. He has, in the past, claimed that the United States intervened to take over an alien crash site in the Canadian province of Manitoba.

He also claimed that those same aliens are the source of anti-climate change technology, and that aliens consider humans to be a primitive species.

"Certainly they are more advanced in agriculture and medicine and many other areas and if that's true, why aren't we cooperating with them to build a better world?" said Hellyer.

While it might all sound like something from a science fiction Da Vinci Code, maybe we shouldn't be too surprised if these things actually turned out to be true. It would explain a lot...
