We're all helpless to resist the great call of the barbecue when the sun is shining - yes, we know there's a solid chance it will end up pissing down or someone will end up spending all night on the toilet, but who cares? Get the coals lit, crack open a beer and risk that salmonella with your pals.

If you've not got a garden, you might consider heading down to the park - being the responsible citizen I know you are, you'll carefully pack up your rubbish and take it with you.

But, whatever you do, don't do what this guy did and pack the still-smoking barbecue away into your boot, will you?

Because if you do, not only will you wreck your car and potentially die, you'll also have to call out the firefighters who will definitely be judging you for your stupidity.

Firefighters in Warsaw, Poland, were called to a fire after a man packed away his disposable barbecue while the coals were still glowing. The man said that he had noticed it was smoking, and had just opened the window to allow some fresh air in... but, of course, the breeze just fanned the flames and before he knew it his Peugeot 307 was ablaze. Doh.

Fortunately, no one was injured in the fire, but the car was ruined. After putting out the fire, firefighters took some photos and shared them online to warn others against doing the same.

This isn't the first time someone has come a cropper thanks to not paying attention to the risks of a disposable barbecue - an entire family were hospitalised after bringing one inside their tent to avoid the rain.

The family of five, who had pitched their tent in Cornwall, were taken into hospital with carbon monoxide poisoning.

Speaking at the time, a Cornwall Fire and Rescue spokesman said: "It appears that breakfast was being cooked on a barbecue outside the tent.

"When it started to rain, the barbecue was taken inside the tent to continue the cooking.

"After a relatively short time, two of the occupants became unwell, prompting the call to the ambulance service.

"In total, a family of five people were conveyed to hospital by ambulance to be checked for the effects of carbon monoxide poisoning."
