You can divide the world into groups - those who aren't bothered by spiders, those who see a spider and say, 'you can just remove it using an upturned glass and some card' and those who want to kill it with fire.

This guy from California falls firmly into the latter group, because when he spotted a large spider in his bedroom, he decided the best course of action was to pull out his trusty torch lighter and burn the little bugger.
You may think this is too much, but personally, I don't think it's enough. Burn the house to the ground and then the bury the ashes.
Sure enough, as the Record Searchlight reports, the seemingly fool proof plan went awry when when the spider, now aflame, ran about the gaff setting the mattress on fire.
The burning mattress was extinguished but by this time, the burning arachnid had crawled over to the curtains and set them alight. Try and imagine how much screaming was going on in that room, at that moment.

Lyndsey Wisegarver, who is the care giver for one of the men who lives in the building, said it was a 'huge wolf spider'. The residents attempted to put out the flames with a garden hose, but that didn't work so they called in the professionals.
Firefighters said the fire caused 'moderate damage' to the property, where three people live, and is now uninhabitable.
Battalion Chief Rob Pitt reckons the cost of the damage is around $11,000 (£8,139), but, most importantly, no one was injured in the fire.

Firefighters could be seen removing wet clothing, as they attempted to mop up after the fire.
Wisegarver said they had already been considering moving out but this incident had just sped things up a bit. "We'll make it work," she told the news outlet.

And in future, rather than screaming 'burn baby burn', just remember this one simple tip: grab a glass and a bit of a card and you'll be laughing.
