It's the last time the airline will make this flight.

Many people around the world are keeping an eye out for black cats and ensuring they don't walk under ladders as it's the unlucky day of Friday the 13th.

Coincidentally, it's also the day where a passenger plane with the ominous flight number of 666 (a number associated with the Devil) flies to a location in Finland. Even more coincidentally, that place has the airport code HEL for Helsinki.

The Finnair flight from Copenhagen, Denmark, to Helsinki happens regularly but today isn't just an ordinary day. Not only is it the day regarded by some as spooky, but it's also the last day that the Nordic airline will make the trip.

A spokesperson for the company has told the Telegraph: "As of October 29, some of our flight numbers in our network will change and our AY666 flight from Copenhagen to Helsinki will change to AY954.

"In 11 years, we've flown 21 times the AY666 flight to HEL on Friday the 13th."

One of those occasions was in January, when the plane took off at 1300hrs (1pm) on Friday the 13th with a 13-year-old aircraft. Veteran pilot Juha-Pekka Keidasto will be behind the controls for the final flight and, luckily, he doesn't consider himself a superstitious man.

While some people might avoid doing anything out of the ordinary to prevent a Final Destination style death, others take advantage of the 'unlucky' day because flights can be cheaper.

According to travel website Kayak, flights to Britain's most popular travel destinations were 14 percent cheaper than normal days last year. The best saving was a flight to Copenhagen, which was 41 percent less than a standard Friday fare.

But because the number 13 spooks enough people, there are some big-name airlines who don't have a row 13, including AirFrance, Iberia, Ryanair, AirTran, Continental, Air New Zealand, Lufthansa, and Alaska Airlines. Lufthansa also doesn't have a row 17 because that number is considered unlucky in Brazil.

There are many who think that Friday the 13th is the day where all hell could break loose, but further data from CityLab shows that there are less traffic accidents on the day. Insurance company DirectLine pointed out that there were twice as many accidents on the 12th in the UK compared to the next day.

Policy Expert has also found that insurance claims are cheaper, fewer and less severe on the 'unlucky' day compared to any other during the month.
