Just when you thought and hoped 2019 couldn't get any weirder, I'd like to introduce you to the concept of the 'Golden Price Tag' social media trend.
Remember Rich Kids of Instagram? If not, it's quite self explanatory - it was a TV show that followed rich kids round, while they put all their expensive things and flash holidays all over Instagram.
But those rich kids still need things to spend their money on, which is where Golden Price Tag comes in. The Instagram account apparently charges rich people to have their photo posted on the account. What's worse - it looks like people have actually been paying.
So far, there are only five people who have made it on to the account, which has a pretty measly following of under 4,000.

The website in the account's bio even lets you know how much each kid has spent on having their photo posted - which means whichever evil genius came up with this idea has absolutely tapped in to the mind of their target demographic.
The photos are exactly what you'd expect them to be - fancy cars, golf courses, champagne, etc.
According to Golden Price Tag's website, the guy above has currently spent the most to have his picture featured. Currently working out at a nice $24 (£19) per like, this post cost champagne-lover Emmanuel a cheeky little $3,000 (£2,400).

Next up is Katja, who allegedly spent $2,500 (£2,000) on her post. I imagine it was worth every penny.
If you're wondering exactly how it works, it's pretty simple. The FAQ section of the website says: "You choose your picture, caption and price. After you've paid, you'll receive your picture which is now modified with our price tag and we'll upload it to our website and Instagram account."
Then it gets to the section which explains their pricing rules. It reads: "That is up to you. The minimum amount is $1000 [£800]. The maximum is $999,999 [£800,000]. If you click on a picture of a gold member you can see how much that person paid."

And in that part lies the genius of the idea - what appeals to this type of rich kid more than showing off to all the other rich kids how much they can afford to waste? Nothing really.
It means the person who came up with this idea has made themselves a nice $8,500 (£6,800) just from uploading these five images to an Instagram account. Now THAT is aspirational.
