If you heard someone say 'poecilotheria metallica', it would be fair to guess that it's a song or gig from the rock band Metallica. But in reality, though, you're quite far off: it's actually a tarantula.
A video of this majestic-looking creepy-crawly can be seen on some brave soul's arm. Look, we know that not everyone is a fan of spiders and they can be terrifying to look at, but this one is actually cool.

The spider, which is also known as Gooty tarantula, metallic blue ornamental and Gooty sapphire ornamental, originates from Southeast India. Why Gooty? Apparently, Theraphosidae says that it's the place where it was first discovered, yet it might not be true as it can be found crawling its way through other areas of India.
There's no doubt that many Brits are screaming at the joy that the arachnid isn't roaming the streets of the UK. Meanwhile, Social media is divided - not surprising, to be honest - on the poecilotheria metallica.
One user wrote: "I hate spiders so much that I scream like a girl when I see one; I have to have someone else deal with the spider."
Another user tweeted: "Very interesting, thanks; this is an example of structural colour in nature made up of crystalline nanostructures but no blue pigment. The Pollia condensate berry is similarly iridescent."
In fact, one user had a complete epiphany when they saw it and tweeted: "Never thought I'd see a pretty spider - guess I was wrong..."
If you're reading this far down and haven't clicked off because it's a giant spider, then congratulations! But let's be honest: people have seen tarantulas when they're on holiday and some even choose to have them as pets.

Speaking of pets, it might be time to put aside the idea of owning a cat, dog or rabbit. You want to buy one, you say? So, the Spider Shop actually sells Gooty sapphire ornamental for £25.
That's right, it's not even that expensive. It'd cost you the same amount as buying your mates a round of drinks at the pub.
To put it into perspective, at least the tarantula isn't ugly to look at or that it's a new spider that can jump up to six feet into the air.

If you're an arachnophobe, then there might be no convincing you. You can't deny that it's an awesome creature you'd expect to see in Game of Thrones or Harry Potter.
