We all know that social media can be faked to make your body or surroundings appear to be they're something they're not. Are you looking a bit pale? Well, up that saturation and apply some Valencia filter and say hello to a suntanned complexion.

One Instagrammer shows you can even change the way your body looks without any fancy filters. Milly Smith has uploaded several images to the social networking site showcasing how posture and clothing can eliminate curves or highlight other body parts.

The young woman's post reads: "Same girl, same day, same time. With a camera angle and clothing, I can change my body into something that society would deem more acceptable than the photo on the right.

"The media constantly wants us to be more filtered, more posed, more flexed. Making us ashamed, afraid and resentful of our bodies, our natural vessel.

"Both these photos are beautiful. Both these photos are worthy. However only one of these photos is truly me, comfortable and naturally loving myself."

In another post, she comments how her cellulite, bald spot, scars, big thighs, 'less than perky boobs', spots and stretch marks all make up who she is. But Milly says she isn't letting those things define whether she's 'beautiful' or not.

She's one in a long line of women taking comparative shots of their bodies to showcase how misleading a picture can be. Anna Victoria wanted to highlight how different angles can mean the world of difference when you're taking a cheeky selfie.

She captioned it: "Me 1% of the time vs. 99% of the time. And I love both photos equally. Good or bad angles don't change your worth.

"I recently came across an article talking about how one woman stated she refuses to accept her flaws, because she doesn't see them as flaws at all. I love that because it sends such a powerful message that our belly rolls, cellulite, stretch marks are nothing to apologize for, to be ashamed of, or to be obsessed with getting rid of!

"As I'm getting older, I have cellulite and stretch marks that aren't going away, and I welcome them. They represent a life fully lived (for 28 years so far) and a healthy life and body at that.

"How can I be mad at my body for perfectly normal 'flaws'? This body is strong, can run miles, can lift and squat and push and pull weight around, and it's happy not just because of how it looks, but because of how it feels."

It's interesting to see the difference, and a good message to be putting out there.
