The heavy metal singer has revealed his dad, Hugh Warner, has died. The 48-year-old told his nearly two million followers on Instagram: "Today I lost my father, Hugh Warner. He taught me how to be a man, a fighter and a survivor. He taught me how to shoot a gun. How to drive. How to lead.
"He will always be the best dad in the world. Somehow and somewhere, I know he is with my mom now. I will keep my promise and never let you down. I miss and love you dad."
Many of his fans have posted messages of support such as: "I'm so sorry for the loss of your dad. My heart aches for you, losing both your heroes, I can't imagine the pain. Tears, thoughts and prayers from the UK."
Another commented: "Sorry for your loss Brian. He used to come and listen to my old band in the nineties. Super nice guy."
This user added: "Your parents used to come in to the restaurant I worked at and they were both so cool. I'm so sorry."
He shared a picture of him and his dad in March, this year which showed the two in full Manson outfits.
But the most recent post shows a young Marilyn Manson, looking drastically different to the man that many know today. For a big chunk of his career he's donned a dramatic face of makeup. But he shocked many people with his real appearance in the TV show Salem.
Manson's mum, Barbara Warner, died in 2014 after a battle with dementia. Following that, he wrote this touching tribute on Facebook: "To my Mother, the first and greatest believer in me...I hope I see you again someday. But not now, because I have more things I promised I would do.
"I'll make you proud and satisfied that you know you made the son you wanted."
To be fair, he's certainly done that with a music, television, art and movie career that has spanned nearly 30 years.
