Mia Khalifa Celebrates 10 Millions Followers, Gets Her Face Smashed Into Cake

Mia Khalifa - everyone's favourite porn star - has celebrated reaching 10 million followers this week, in a rather unconvincing video posted to Instagram.

"Holy shit. Thank you guys so much for 10 million followers! This is insane," she says in the clip.

"I'm not gonna lie, I'm more excited for the cake than I am the followers, so..."

...aaaaand cue hand that smashes her face into the cake. Shock. Horror. We didn't expect that at all.

The Lebanese-born 25-year-old, who moved from Lebanon to the US in 2000, shot to fame after she was ranked the number one entertainer on the adult website Pornhub, and garnered herself quite a following for her award-winning work in porn industry.

But how did she reach a whopping 10 million followers, we hear you ask.

Well, after she left the porn industry in 2015, Mia has transitioned into a social media personality, webcam model and sports commentator, gaining tons of followers along the way - she even fancies herself as a bit of a chef.

But there's more to it than that. You see, Mia is no stranger to controversy, and she has definitely seen her fair share of it over the years.

Forgetting for a moment that one of her boobs actually popped earlier this year, after a hockey puck hit it at 80mph during a Stanley Cup playoff game, Mia has faced a series of serious dilemmas as a result of her rise to fame.

She's been threatened by ISIS on social media, who have told her she would be beheaded for the way she lives her life, and has received death threats from around the Middle East after she was seen performing sexual acts while wearing a hijab.

She later admitted that these threats, of which are still ongoing, are the reason the left the porn industry and says becoming a porn star was huge mistake.

I mean, I get it, Mia. Who wants to see mock-ups of themselves being beheaded?

She has since rebranded herself and now has a private members platform for her dedicated fans.

But ever the good sport, Mia has managed to take the haters and death threats in her stride, regularly hitting back with witty comebacks on her Twitter account.

In the video she posted online today, a caption wrote: "Thank y'all so much for all the love, and even more so for the hate #HatersGonnaHate #CakersGonnaCake."

Speaking to BBC Radio 5 Live earlier this year, Mia that she tries to laugh the hateful comments off because 'it could always be much, much worse'.

Well more power to you, Mia. You just do you.
