Ben From 'Friends' Is Now The Same Age As Rachel Was In Series One

It's been 14 years since the hugely successful show finished and now little Ben is all grown up

Let's face it. There has never been a TV show quite like Friends. For ten years we laughed and we cried with Chandler, Joey, Rachel, Ross, Monica and Phoebe and all the other characters along the way.

But out of all those other characters and cameos, who could forget Ross's first marriage to Carol, his first wife with whom he fathered young Ben Gellar?

Carol soon left Ross to be with Susan of course, but their adorable little son continued to feature throughout the series - 'The One With The Holiday Armadillo', in particular, remains a classic.

Well, now little Ben is all grown up. As one of the Internet's favourite phrases goes: feel old yet?

No? Well, what if we told you that 14 years later, Ben is the same age Jennifer Anniston was when she first appeared in the show in series one? How about now?

That's right. He's as old as the woman who eventually became his step-mum - well, presumably she did, anyway. Ben's character seemed to be written out after series eight, prompting all sorts of batshit fan theories explaining what might have happened to him. But the show ended with Ross and Rachel finally getting together, so...

When the Friends pilot was filmed, Jennifer Aniston was the show's second youngest cast member at 25, after Matthew Perry - better known as the show's wisecracking Chandler Bing - who was 24.

The mind-blowing discovery was made on Twitter, when a fan tweeted: "Brace yourselves: the actor who played Ben in Friends is now older than Jennifer Aniston was at the start of the series AND Courtney Cox is now older than Richard was on the show."

Does this mean we are old now?

The role of Ben was played by various different actors throughout the show's run, in accordance with Ben's age, but the cheeky blonde kid we know and love was actually played by two actors, twins Cole and Dylan Sprouse.

After Friends, they went on to play the lead roles in Disney's The Suite Life of Zack and Cody, earning up to $40,000 an episode, and they also appeared in Hannah Montana, the hit show that launched a career for Disney's Miley Cyrus.

Cole is still acting now, in fact. His latest role is on Netflix series Riverdale, which focuses on a group of high school students dealing with the death of a classmate.

And while you might well recognise the twins as Zack and Cody, they'll forever be little Ben in our hearts. Which is sort of weird, but only if you stop to think about it.

Now, who knows where baby Emma is?
