Paddy McGuinness dedicated tonight's episode of Take Me Out to a contestant who appeared on the show.

Charlie, a former student at York University, has tragically died since filming.

The presenter took to Twitter to reveal the saddening news and described him as a "fantastic lad".

Prior to the airing of tonight's episode, he tweeted: "Tonight's Take Me Out is in memory of Charlie. A fantastic lad who I'm sure will be greatly missed by his wonderful friends & family. RIP."

A friend of the contestant also paid his respects.

Viewers tweeted their condolences to his family.

A Thames spokesperson said: "It is with great sadness that we have learnt of the tragic news regarding Charlie. Our thoughts and best wishes go to his family and friends. We ask that you respect the family's privacy at this time."
