So here we are, LADs - I'm writing about Love Island and you're reading it.

Following his booting off the show, contestant Jonny Mitchell sat down on the Good Morning Britain couch and was grilled on politics and mathematics by Piers Morgan.

The 26-year-old left the show last week and appeared on the ITV morning show to let the viewing public know what he'd been up to in the meantime. He also weighed in on what's been kicking off between Tyla and Mike.

"I've caught up with it. I've seen it [Tyla and Mike]. A little bit jel but I'm not really too surprised, to be honest with you. There was a lot of emotions going on when I left," Jonny admitted.

He added: "Bit of a mug-off, isn't it?"

As you might imagine, Piers Morgan's attitude to the show and its contestants is much the same as that of Yer Da, so in an effort to show Jonny up, our host began grilling the poor guy on mathematics, politics and culture.

"What's 11 x 15," Piers asked.

"Maths isn't my strong point. Don't put me on the spot!" Jonny replied.

"Have a guess", Piers responded, to which Jonny said: "160."

"Not bad - 165," replied the former Daily Mirror editor. "Who's the chancellor of Germany?"

"Come on, let's move on," Jonny responded.

But Piers pressed the issue, saying: "She's the most powerful person in politics."

"Angela Merkel?" Jonny eventually replied.

"Yes, well done, mate," said Piers.

Later, Piers began to openly slate the ITV2 show, saying: "It's basically just a forum for complete dimwits to behave like dimwits."

Jonny replied: "It's a great idea, isn't it? You stick a load of 20-year-olds in a villa for free. It's just entertainment, isn't it?"

Adding: "Lighten up a little bit, Piers, honestly. I don't think it's stupid. It's not everyone's cup of tea, mate, obviously."

Piers admitted his kids love the show, with Johnny responding: "That's the main audience, isn't it? Young people. No offence."

To be honest, I'd rather have Jonny on my pub quiz team. Sure, he might not get every question right, but you just know that Piers would be the bore who takes the entire thing too seriously and insists that you put down their answer to every question. And let's face it, if he started losing he'd probably start Googling the answers. Fuck. That.
