Ryan Reynolds has released a statement in response to the death of a stunt person on the set of Deadpool 2.
"Today, we tragically lost a member of our crew while filming 'Deadpool,'" he wrote in a message posted to Twitter.
"We're heartbroken, shocked and devastated ... but recognize nothing can come close to the grief and inexplicable pain her family and loved ones must feel in this moment. My heart pours out to them - along with each and every person she touched in this world."
A 20th Century Fox spokesperson also commented on the tragedy to Variety, they said: "We are deeply saddened by the accident that occurred on the set of 'Deadpool 2' this morning," a studio spokesperson said. "Our hearts and prayers are with the family, friends and colleagues of our crew member during this difficult time."

The stand-in actor tragically died in Vancouver on Monday morning while filming the Marvel sequel.
The woman, whose name is yet to be released, was taken to hospital immediately but medics were unable to revive her.
She crashed through the glass of a ground-floor studio inside Shaw Tower close by to Jack Poole Plaza.

The film is set to star Ryan Reynolds as the lead role, with Zazie Beetz joining as Domino and Josh Brolin joining as Cable.
Other cast members include: Jack Kesy, Shioli Kutsuna, Julian Dennison, T.J. Miller, Morena Baccarin, Brianna Hildebrand, Stefan Kapacic, Leslie Uggams, and Karan Soni.
The incident comes after a recent accident involving Tom Cruise on the set of Mission Impossible 6.
Deadpool 2 is scheduled for theatrical release in June 2018.
