HBO has released the first official promo for Game of Thrones Season 7 and it looks sick.

The new tease features Cersei Lannister, Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen on a long walk towards their thrones, ending with a chilly hint that ruling the seven kingdoms is the least of their problems.

But what the fuck are you reading this for?

It looks well and truly amazing.

Season seven will premiere on July 16 and naturally everyone wants to know what will happen, who will die and when Daenerys will unleash her dragons.

We've already been told the next season will feature a cameo appearance from chart-topper Ed Sheeran, and Conor McGregor will also be making an appearance.

It's not the first time Games of Thrones has had guest appearances from musicians. In the past, Will Champion from Coldplay and Snow Patrol's Gary Lightbody have both starred.

But, unfortunately, Benioff and Weiss shared some slightly depressing news at the festival.

Most seasons have drawn out the plot lines and character developments over 10 episodes but unfortunately the last two will be considerably less.

Season seven will feature seven episodes, while season eight will only have six.

Benioff told the crowd: "We've had, from the beginning, a sense of... from the very first time we pitched this show to HBO, we wanted to tell one 70-hour movie.

"It's gonna [sic] turn out to be 73 hours, but still, it's stayed relatively the same in terms of the beginning, the middle and now we're coming to the end."

So fans we've got 13 episodes left to watch how it all comes to an end.
