The woman who was secretly given £9,000 by George Michael for IVF treatment has said that she would like to pay tribute to the star when she names her future child.

Lynette Gillard was anonymously handed the money after her then husband went on Deal or No Deal talking about their struggle to conceive and the cost of IVF. He missed out on the top prize and left with £3,000 but the day after the show aired they had a call from the producers to say that an anonymous donor would like to give them £9,000. Shortly after his death, it was revealed that the donor was George Michael.

Lynette has been undergoing IVF treatment since 2005 and has so far been unsuccessful. She wanted to know the reason why it kept failing but the blood tests to check her immune system were too expensive. She used George's generous donation to get the tests and has since discovered that her own immune system had been attacking the embryos.

She told the Mirror: "Now, thanks to him, I have these tests and next time the doctors are going to put me on steroids when the embryo is implanted. He's given us hope.

"I know he has done a lot of charity work but it is strange to think he watched me on TV and felt compelled to help. I definitely feel like I have a connection to him."

If Lynette gets pregnant she said she would like to include the name George as a middle name for her future baby and said she will be playing his music during labour. A bit of 'Club Tropicana' while she's going through the agony of child birth.
