A male nursing student has reportedly confessed to killing a former bridal reality show contestant.

Jackie Jerome Rogers, 34, is being held on a $2 million bail after investigators discovered the body of Lisa Marie Naegle found in a shallow grave at his home.

Naegle, 36, appeared on E! television show Bridalplasty in 2010, where she competed for a dream wedding and plastic surgery.

Speaking in Inglewood, California, an LAPD spokesperson said: "We've just been informed that investigators in the coroner's office have found the body of a female in a shallow grave at the residence.

"We do believe that it is our victim Lisa Marie Naegle - although official confirmation will be the responsibility of the coroner's office.

"At this time, investigators will be here for several more hours as they process the scene."

Naegle disappeared after a birthday party on Saturday night, after texting her husband Derek Harryman in the early hours to say she was getting food on the way home.

According to the LAPD, Rogers has now confessed to murdering the woman, with TMZ reporting that she was hit on the head seven times with a hammer early on Sunday morning.

The website also claims Rogers said the victim had broken up with him to go back to her husband.

Naegle's sister Danielle Naegle-Kaimona told ABC 7 that the family pleaded with him to give them details, but Rogers initially denied taking her home.

She said: "We begged and pleaded that he'd come to our home to kind of give us details on what time, where were things, and when he left her, but while he was talking to us and telling us his story, multiple different times he said he absolutely did not go home with her, or did not take her home."

Naegle's husband Harryman had told reporters that the couple had been trying for a baby before her death.
