This New York Loopy Skyscraper Is Amazing

It's called 'The Big Bend', for obvious reasons.

Move over Trump Tower there's a new kid on the block, and it's unreal.

The push to take architecture to new heights has taken an astonishing twist, as designs are unveiled for an avant-garde curved skyscraper.

'The Big Bend' slender tower conception would revolutionise Manhattan's skyline, as the building rises to an apex before curving back down to earth.

The huge, ever-so-slightly-phallic symbol is being hailed as 'the world's longest building' and its length would make it almost twice as largest as the world-tallest building - the Burj Khalifa in Dubai.

It also features a staggering lift system that can move horizontally, in loops and curves, as well as vertically. Like the one from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

"What was once considered to be the greatest challenge in elevator history, is finally becoming reality: the elevator that can travel in curves, horizontally and in continuous loops.

"The innovative track changing system allows for the horizontal connection of two shafts on the top and bottom to create a continuous loop," designers said.

The innovative glass-lined building would stretch 4,000ft straddling Billionaire's row on 57th Street, in an attempt to circumvent New York's zoning laws.

Oiio explained: "New York city's zoning laws have created a peculiar set of tricks through which developers try to maximise their property's height in order to infuse it with the prestige of a high-rise structure.

"But what if we substituted height with length? What if our buildings were long instead of tall?

"If we manage to bend our structure instead of bending the zoning rules of New York we would be able to create one of the most prestigious buildings in Manhattan. The longest building in the world."

The development of One57 in 2014 prompted a new trend for 'super-slenders' - skinny skyscrapers - after a 625 percent average sales increase in the first quarter of 2016.

Oiio say: "'There is an undeniable obsession that resides in Manhattan. It is undeniable because it is made to be seen. There are many different ways that can make a building stand out, but in order to do so the building has to literally stand out.

"The Big Bend can become a modest architectural solution to the height limitations of Manhattan.

"We can now provide our structures with the measurements that will make them stand out without worrying about the limits of the sky."

I definitely want a go in that lift, this building sounds amazing.
