Tomorrow, our friends in the US will be able to witness a rare total solar eclipse and millions of people are expected to be turning their heads upwards to see the cool celestial event.
However, experts are warning people to make sure they're wearing proper eye protection or risk losing their eyesight forever.
Scientists are warning that just because the sun is covered by the moon, it doesn't mean you can't seriously fuck up your vision forever more, and that sunglasses absolutely will not cut it.

The scariest part is that even if you did do some damage, you wouldn't notice, because it's usually painless.

According to NASA, because there are no pain receptors in your retina, you won't feel your eyeballs burning, but they will be - it could take several hours to notice the damage, but once it's done, it's done and there's no cure.
And while a total eclipse is a pretty cool thing, it's definitely not worth going blind for.
You can pick up special eclipse glasses, which are able to block out 99 percent of the UV and infrared light rays.

Just make sure you're getting the real deal, because some bastards are selling knock offs that won't actually protect your precious corneas.
Seventy-year-old Louis Tomososki, from Oregon, told KPTV about how he permanently damaged his eyesight back in 1963, when he was just 16, and looked at a partial solar eclipse without proper protection.
He said he closed his left eye and viewed the eclipse for just 20 seconds, but that was all it took. He now has a small blind spot in the middle of his right eye, which hasn't got better or worse since the day it happened.

He said that every time he visits an optometrist they can always tell that he looked at an eclipse without proper protection.
So just don't risk it OK?
