After spending a year out of the public eye, apart from that weird Princess Beatrice sword incident, Ed Sheeran is back.

Now, you could hardly say he's had an 'image overhaul' but the 25-year-old ginger singer has managed to lose an impressive three stone during his time away.

Better still, he has managed to do it in a way that sounds really easy and without giving up pizza and beer, apparently. Ed told Total Access on Signal 1 radio that his girlfriend, Cherry Seaborn, had recommended a high-intensity workout for him which means he exercises for just 10 minutes a day.

High-intensity interval training, or HIIT, workouts have become a popular choice for fitness fans who don't have a lot of spare time.

Ed said: "I didn't realise how active I was on tour. My diet was pizza and beer, but because I was doing two hours a night I was really in shape.

"I stopped touring and carried on my diet of pizza and beer. Suddenly I didn't fit in anything. I was like, 'All my clothes have shrunk'.

"I did 10 minutes a day without fail - intervals of 30 seconds sprinting and 30 jogging. The key is to not miss a day, so you don't have to do an hour."

Since beginning his new regime he's dropped to 11.5 stone.
