Antonio Conte Explains What He REALLY Thinks About Diego Costa Boozing

Get on the sesh lad!

When I've done something really pretty well, or I've been shouted at for not doing my job, usually I celebrate or commiserate (the latter, mostly) with a nice, icy lager. Warsteiner's a good shout. Failing that, a Moretti. A strong, sophisticated, Italian lager.

And it appears that when Chelsea and Spain striker Diego Costa celebrates a Chelsea win, he treats himself to an after match beer.

While players regularly got sloshed in the past (who can ever forget the dentist's chair incident in Hong Kong with Teddy Sheringham, Gazza, Steve McManaman, sick note Darren Anderton and others), it is now splashed all over the papers whenever a footballer has a beer, a kebab, or lets their hair down at all, so openly drinking the hoppy goodness in the changing room after a game could be seen as a brazen disregard for authority from Costa.

Not so. Antonio Conte, manager of Chelsea and the perfect look for an ideal Bond villain, says he is happy for 28-year-old Costa (cough cough) to enjoy a refreshment.

He said: "I have great professionals in my players. In this case, I don't think a coach or a manager can say: 'Do this' or 'Don't do this'.

"I have great professionals and I know they will have the better attitude and behaviours in this situation."

You can't really argue with him. After getting past Crystal Palace today, The Blues have won 11 games straight and are the favourites to claim the title. Jose Mourinho is being shown how to do it.

The former Juventus and Italy manager is known for imposing strict diet regimes to get his team in shape, but alcohol is not included in this, as long as it is in moderation.

He even goes as far as to say the alcohol is good for you: "[It's good] for rehydration, you can drink Coca-Cola or one beer. It's good for recovery. But one. Not a lot. It's good. After you finish the game, quickly, not an hour after the end.

So after your 13th goal this season today, enjoy your tipple, Diego.
