Steven Gerrard has divided fans on Instagram over this sweet snap of his four children.

In the shot, Lilly-Ella, 13, Lexie, 10 and Lourdes, five, can be seen gazing at their newborn baby brother, Lio.

At first glance, it looks super adorable, however, the caption has caused a bit of a stir as the former Liverpool player joked that his son would never have to do his washing and ironing when he's older because he has three older sisters.

The caption reads: "Looks like his ironing and washing is sorted when he gets older."

We're sure he didn't mean any offence, but not everybody was happy with the former footballer.

Here's what some of his followers had to say:

It comes after David Beckham sparked an online debate after posting a picture of him kissing his daughter on the lips.

He posted the sweet picture to Instagram with the caption: 'Kiss for daddy'. Nice, right? Well, not according to the Internet.

Some people couldn't help but question the fact that he was kissing five-year-old Harper on the lips, with one user even accusing the star of being a 'pervert'.

One user wrote: "I try not to judge but I can't help but think it's pretty weird that he kisses her on the lips considering her age."

"Tbh kissing your daughter on the lips is a little weird.. yes it is," is another comment on the picture.

However, hundreds of Beckham's fans were quick to jump to his defence.

dotty3779 wrote: "It's awful that people see wrong in a father and daughter sharing a kiss. I have absolutely no qualms with dads and daughters doing that. In fact I think it's necessary for a dad to do that. Every girl should be treated like a princess by their dad so they have high expectations in later life."

While thesartorialmumma added: "What is the world coming to when such a simple and loving gesture between a father and daughter garners such hate, disgust & divisiveness?! I am dumbfounded that people feel the need to spread their hate all over such a lovely, heartwarming photo.

"It's such a shame that dad's are forced to feel uncomfortable to show affection in such a way. What is wrong with this photo is not what is happening within it but the fact that the world now sees this as inappropriate. [sic]"

The picture has managed to attract an impressive 1.7 million likes at the time of writing, and David has kept it up there so clearly he doesn't have an issue with it.
