Here in the UK, there is plenty of competition between supermarkets. But it appears that despite Aldi being from Germany, the chain is trying to win over the hearts and minds of Brits across the country this summer.
It is about to release what it is calling the 'biggest steak available on the market', which is a pretty bold claim.

But not only is the 'Big Daddy' rump steak an impressive 16oz (450 grams), it's also being sold for £4.99.

Whether you're planning on firing up the BBQ for summer or need something meaty for Father's Day, this will serve you well. The steaks will be available in two days, but customers are being warned that they'll go quickly.
Tony Baines, joint managing director of corporate buying at Aldi UK, told the Sun: "This is another great example of Aldi's continued commitment to offering premium quality products at amazing low prices, allowing customers to make substantial savings on luxury products without compromise."
It's not the first time the supermarket has introduced a ridiculously cheap steak. A little more than two weeks ago, people went wild for Aldi's 18-inch Tomahawk steak for £12.99. For reference, that same cut would cost you £26.99 at Waitrose.

The rib-eye cut costs £65.00 per kg at a trendy London restaurant, and that's before adding the chips and veg. Pretty sure at those prices it'd be cheaper to buy a cow, raise it, and kill it yourself.
They're also known for their decent summer accessories including a pizza oven and hot tub. The oven was retailing at just £99.99, which is on average at least £200 cheaper than most competitors.

It weighs about 26kgs and boasts a temperature gauge, flue damper, two-part chrome plated cooking grill, and can impressively cook meat and fish as well as pizzas.
There you go, you can even use it to fire up your new tomahawk and Big Daddy rump steaks.
