The grandparents of Yvette Henley, Gary and Kim Forester, were granted custody of the four-year-old in an emergency guardianship hearing in June. Despite that, the young girl was still living with her father Virgil Henley, and both couldn't be found.

Gary and Kim then found out that Yvette was reportedly suffering emotional damage and could be in danger. The pair set out to find the young girl, knowing full well she could be anywhere in America; but they enlisted the help of an incredibly unlikely stranger.

After Facebook stalking Virgil's friends, they came across British supermarket worker Harry Brown and sent him a message, which said: "Right now, my wife and I have been given custody of Yvette and the FBI child abduction task force is looking for her.

"If you can help me in any way get a confirmed location of my granddaughter Yvette, I have a $2,000 (£1,537) cash reward for information that leads to her safe return. Please message me back or call me to help my granddaughter.

"She is in a very dire situation."

Harry answered the call and started trying to pinpoint where Virgil was. His first win came when the 28-year-old complained about the humidity in Arizona. The Sainsbury's worker then struck up a conversation with Virgil, whom he met online a few years ago according to The Mirror.

The 21-year-old thought he could bait Virgil with pizza; so he slyly asked where they were staying so he could send him some slices. Unsuspecting Virgil told him the motel address and the room number, which Harry sent to Gary and Kim as well as the police.

Harry, who lives in Surry, has told The Mirror: "I spend my life on the internet but little did I know that talking to random people would lead to me finding this little girl. She is loving where she is now. I cried so much when I saw the photos of her with her grandparents.

"The police had been trying to find her since May and within two days I got his exact location."

Harry is planning on flying over to California soon to meet Yvette and Gary and Kim.
