For those of us who love using Instagram for a good stalk, the recent news that it now tells people when you've taken a screenshot of their photo was sure to fully put the shits up you.

When this first popped up on my feed, I sat there, anxious, trying to remember the last time I'd taken a little screenshot on the sly. And, lo and behold, it was about 20 seconds previous and it was someone I don't know in real life and it was all a bit creepy.
So, do we all need to worry/delete our accounts/stop being creepy? Well, only sort of.
Instagram released some new features this week, including live video and the ability to send disappearing photos and videos (is it just me or is that a total rip off of Snapchat?).

Now, if you take a screenshot of one of these 'disappearing' photos then the person who uploaded it will get a notification, but if you're taking a grab of one of their usual uploads, they won't. It's business as usual.
If, like me, no one worth taking a screenshot of is likely to send you a private photo then you're sound. Carry on with your borderline stalker behaviour. Fill your boots, you screenshot-taking-deviant.
Phew.
