Shocking Video Of A Toddler Screaming After Her Mum Collapses From Drug Overdose

Earlier this month the distressing images of a man and woman passed out from a heroin overdose with a toddler in the backseat shocked the world.

The City of East Liverpool police department, which chose to share the pictures, said it had done so in an attempt to raise awareness of the heroin epidemic.

A video has now appeared on social media which shows a two-year-old girl screaming as her mum lies motionless on the floor in the middle of the toy aisle of a US store due to an overdose of the drug.

Whoever is filming the sad scene can be heard saying that the mother's eyes are rolling back in her head. The woman was treated at the scene with two doses of Narcan - a drug which counteracts the effects of heroin - to bring her 'round', Fox News reports.

The incident took place on Sunday morning and is now a key piece of evidence in charging the mum with child endangerment. The little girl is currently in protective custody.

Police in Lawrence, where this took place, said that sadly this is all too common. Police are hopeful that this video will show people the horrible consequences of drug use.
